Bloomery is an advanced smelting workshop used in smelting raw ore into ingots, bars, and lumps. You will need the smelting skill to use the furnace.
A Crucible and tongs or its primitive version must be equipped to smelt. To use the bloomery first open it with the command Manage smelting building, place a few units of a fuel source inside such as billets or charcoal and light it. Then insert the raw ore you wish to smelt. Use bellows to increase the heat until it reaches 1500 where a status bar showing the state of the raw ore will appear. The raw ore is ready to be melted into ingots, bars, or lumps once the status bar fills. To melt the ore, use the command Melt and select the material of your choice.
The bloomery holds 400 stones of weight.
Note: Using charcoal allows the smelting of more units of ores as it takes up less room in the bloomery. Placing more units of fuel in the bloomery allows the completion of other unrelated tasks while waiting for the ores to heat without worrying about the bloomery burning out. (You will still have to check the temperature as it drops over time)
It should be noted the Bloomery can also be used to destroy items by putting an item in and then dragging another item from your inventory on top of it.
