Skill ID 18

Construction is one of the four tier 2 crafting skills in the Artisan branch. It allows to pave roads and build wooden objects and buildings.
Level 30 of Artisan is required to learn this skill. To increase Construction past level 30, Artisan skill must be at level 60.

^{Building objects}

You can build objects by equipping a Hammer (Primitive hammer, Mallet, etc) and right-clicking on a ground tile, selecting Simple construction and choosing the wanted building.

NOTE:

• Objects and buildings that are not in the area of either private or guild claim can be deconstructed before they are finished and will decay and vanish over time.
• Already built objects and buildings that are in the area of private or guild claim can get destroyed by anyone who has the destroy permission.

^{Building Roads}

You can pave a road by equipping a Hammer (Primitive hammer, Mallet, etc) and select the Pave option under the Construction menu when right-clicking the terrain. Roads give you a movement speed bonus of 10% while walking on them and different speed bonuses to carts.

• Paving roads is a great way of raising your construction skill.
• Build (or partially build) wattle fences to reach skill 30.
• Once you hit 30, you can partially build the forge and anvil to increase the skill quicker.
• Partially building refers to constructing the item to partial completion then deconstructing it to repeat the process.
• Have a friend with construction 60 place down a Small wooden house construction site. Then add one Nail at a time and hammer it in. Once all nails are hammered it, destroy the construction site and start over again.
• MMO only: Hammering one piece of clay at a time into a kiln blueprint is a good way to farm exp if you have enough clay around.
