The Crucible tongs is a tool required for smelting. If you equip the tool and access a heated Forging Device,
you can melt items like Ores, bars, ingots, lumps, Metal Tools, Metal Weapons, Metal Armor...

Tips[ | ]

As quality for iron is capped at 60, it is recommended to try to smelt a steel ingot to increase quality. This way the general quality of smelting will be higher. Of course, for ultimate quality, you will need a crucible made from Vostaskus steel.
Crucible and tongs can also be crafted in "Ulf's Forge" at Illa-Newdd (Starting Islands). In that case crafting of "Crucible and tongs" performs via "General Actions" skill and requires 1x Common ingot (Influence 70%) and Hammer (Influence 10%, losses 30 durability), skill Influence 20%.

This large pincers like tool was made of welded steel that are used to grasp and take a hot crucible out of a fire, furnace or to move a crucible from one location to another.
