A Snare trap is a tool used to capture domestic Chickens and Hares. A placed snare is automatically claimed by its creator for 2 hours, usually taking over an hour to capture an animal.
The snare can be picked up by the player, but note that once sprung, the snare will not be reclaimed.
Usage[ | ]
- Right click on an empty tile.
- Go to 'Create'.
- Select 'A Snare'.
MMO: Testing shows that
animal_quality = ( soil_quality + Hunting_skill + snare_trap_quality ) / 3
where the skill is calculated at the time of emptying the snare, not at placing. The soil does not get downgraded so may be reused.
YO:
According to LiF:YO server logs, snares take "civ rating" into account, presumably making it more difficult to catch animals near settlements. The full effect has however not been confirmed.
Through testing it seems that quality of the captured animal can be easily calculated.
animal_quality = ( soil_quality + Hunting_skill + snare_trap_quality ) / 3
