Steel ingots are ingots made of steel. Steel is stronger than iron and can be used to make higher quality items.
Creation[ | ]
To create a Steel ingot from flux and iron, place 2 Iron Ingots and 12 Flux in either a Furnace, Forge and Anvil, or Bloomery. The minimum temperature the iron must be at in order to melt is 1500 degrees. The Flux will instantly be "melted" but the Iron takes quite a bit longer. Once the Iron is melted, use a standard Crucible and Tongs (the Believer Crucible and Tongs and the Primitive Crucible and Tongs will not work) and the smelt command to pour the 2 Iron ingots and Flux into a single Steel ingot.
It should be noted that it is more efficient, where Flux is concerned, to make a Steel ingot and melt it down into 5 steel bars or lumps of steel as needed. This is because going from ingot to bar, you only spend 2.4 Flux per bar as opposed to 6 Flux; and going from ingot to lumps you only spend .3 Flux per lump instead of 2. To smelt the Steel ingot into Steel bar or Steel nugget, you need to put the Steel ingot into your Furnace, Forge and anvil or Bloomery and bring it up to 1500 °C. It will take longer than at 2000 °C in the Bloomery, but it will still do the same.
